School of Leaders

What is the School of Leaders?
The School of Leaders is not an Academic institution, but rather like a school of fish. That is, it is a gathering together of leaders. It is not designed to create leaders, but rather to accentuate the Movement because of the leaders that are in it.

When does it take place?
The School of Leaders is on a hiatus as of Spring 2006.

The Purpose of the School of Leaders is to:

• Ensure the authenticity and integrity of the Cursillo Movement is maintained throughout all three phases (Pre-Cursillo, Cursillo, and Post Cursillo) by personal and community growth and development;
• Prepare those Cursillo leaders who will have the responsibility of leading candidates through their three day experience;
• Channel the restlessness of all those who have made Cursillo into a progressive state of conversion, primarily by establishing, helping to sustain, and encouraging all the Group Reunions;
• Establish teams to prepare for and perfect the Ultreyas;
• Introduce people from the Precursillo into the Postcursillo by means of the three days;
• Study and prioritize the various environments within the Diocese and determine the influential (key) people within those environments; and
• Assist other Cursillistas in determining key people within their own environments.

Background reading
It is important that each member of the School obtain a new Leaders Manual. If you do not go through the required reading before the session you will be lost. We assume everyone is planning to take an adult approach to the School.
